Which of the girls have their own patterns? The originals only? Everyone? Kit [img]graemlins/heart.gif[/img] ? I keep running across them at what seems to be very nice prices.I hate not to buy them, but then again...
Would it be just awful to open unopened patterns and sew with them?
Thanks for your help.

Felicity, Kirsten, Josefina, Addy, Samantha and Molly had the dress patterns.

If you get them on ebay, I would recommend not to cut them but to take photocopies and cut the copies, or if you do not have a possibility of making photocopies, use tissue paper and trace the originals.

I have both Kirstens and Samantha's, my mom bought them years ago. They are really substantial compared to the tissue patters of today. I have traced them before now but I am going to start scanning them into to my computer so I can share the patters with others.

Has anyone sewn Kirstens nightgown? I found some problems with the pattern.

The original AG patterns are a bit more difficult than say McCalls. I have been sewing for many years. More than I wish to admit to here. LOL I seldomly look at directions. With Felicity's dress not only was I reading the directions, but had to get the actual Blue gown out and refer to it. I copied the patterns to tracing paper and ironed on, iron on facing. I do this with all patterns as it keeps them from tearing.

I made Kirsten's nightgown but it was a while ago. I remember the tab that hangs down being a trouble spot. Maybe that's why I haven't made it again

I made Josefina's birthday outfit from the AG pattern. The sleeves would probably be difficult for a beginning seamstress as there are numerous pieces and the ruffles are stitched between sections of sleeve. But the finished garment is exactly like the PC version. My daughter has several AG garments and as far as I can tell, the Pleasant Company patterns are the exact same as the pieces used in manufacturing. Which means the seam allowances are small. When I use an AG pattern, I usually add a bit to the seam allowances and also the back seams so there is more overlap for over-stuffed dolls.

Of all my 18" doll patterns, I cherish the Pleasant Company ones the most because I can make items that look identical to the ones sold. But I don't recommend the patterns to sewing beginners.

Wow QNPoohBear! Really? I will check into that.

I just bought Addy's patterns for a good BIN price.I am anxious to see them in person. If it looks too difficult for me I guess I can resell them.I have been sewing for years, so hopefully I will be ok.
